Ignite faith, hope, strength, and love through reading God’s Word

I Loved Reading This Book

Knowing HIM in His Word and Prayer by Thomas J. Mozden is a daily devotional study designed to meditate and dig deeper into God’s Word. Each devotional seeks to display and reveal the author’s meditation and thoughts that touched his being, as each scripture verse chosen, he felt led by the Holy Spirit to read. “His Word is alive, and it is here where you will find true life and the gateway to eternal life.” ~ writes the author.

He hopes that readers will understand that God’s Word is alive and an all-consuming fire. It is also the author’s hope that each person picking up the book will be touched, inspired, and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ ~ who paid such a high price for the free gift of salvation.

Several themes run throughout the book, as the author mentions 3 words that are repeated and non-negotiable in speaking of life in Christ. They are: Trust, forgiveness, and love. I love that he begins his book with the scripture verse Matthew 11:28 GNB, “Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.”

His insights are compassionate, valuable, and give a fresh perspective to many who will come to understand that this author offers a contemplative interpretation of Scripture. I also came to appreciate his wisdom, insight, intelligence, and greatly valued his perspective.

This book will bring readers into a deeper relationship and understanding of the Word, as they seek the Lord in their own meditation, prayer, and their own perspective. Written for believers, but this also comes as a wonderful book to encourage others to believe in the Lord and to ignite faith, hope, strength, and love through reading God’s Word.

Important Life Scriptures For Every Christian

Powerful Prayers, Meaningful Positive Affirmations, and Dynamic Images to get your days starting joyfully and your nights ending serenely.

Each morning and night contain a scripture, a prayer, a positive affirmation, and an image. Each page also has a place to write the date as you read and a place to write notes.

This is the all-in-one devotion that you need. It is the most complete and comprehensive devotion written, from my point of view.

No scripture, prayer or positive affirmation is repeated. All the prayers and positive affirmations are unique to the scriptures that they’re with. You will not be bored reading this devotion. It’s different from any other devotion that you’ve read before. This is written in an interesting and engaging style to get you reading each morning and night without skipping a day.

This devotion starts from Day 1 and goes to Day 365. This means that you can start using this book at any time during the year. It’s not based on calendar year but rather YOUR year. This devotion will give you the chance to somewhat read the entire Bible, or at least get you close to doing that in 365 days.

This devotion tells the story of God and His agape love for His most beloved creation…us. This devotion is written to be read over the course of a year. However, if you find that you can’t wait to complete it over a year’s time, then go right ahead and read it how you want to read it. This devotion was written to assist you in living the best spiritual and temporal lives that you can. It was also written to make you enjoy reading the Bible and understand what it is about. This devotion is intriguing, fascinating, and a page-turner.

Once you’ve finished reading this devotion, you should understand who God is, why He did what He did for humanity, and what we need to do to be saved. Also, it tells what will happen to the heavens, to Earth and everything in it once God makes His appearance again to us.

This devotion is chronologically done, from before the beginning of creation unto the end of it. The entire story of the children of Israel is chronologically told from all the books of the Old Testament. The chronological story of Jesus Christ is also told. It also tells of the apostles who took over spreading the Gospel after Jesus left Earth. All the books of the New Testament are used to write about Jesus and His apostles. To make reading this devotion more interesting, suspenseful, and exciting, the story of the Israelites and the story of Jesus Christ are intertwined. However, they are still easy to follow.

This devotion has Important Scriptures and Powerful Prayers to help you deal with personal problems such as alcoholism, overeating, suicide, and rape. It also has Important Scriptures and Powerful Prayers to deal with major life problems like racism and environmental issues. Additionally, it has Important Scriptures and Powerful Prayers about spiritual facts such as the relationship between Jesus Christ and God, why there is no mandatory tithing now, and baptism in Jesus’ name. There are also other personal lessons, life lessons, and spiritual lessons that are addressed to help you live the best temporal life and spiritual life that you can, so that you can have the best of both worlds.

This devotion is good for:
  • Women who want to improve and be a better version of themselves.

Offering Comfort, Inspiration and Scriptural Insight

Dr. Andy Laurie had a great life. He was living the American dream, happily married, four kids and two great careers. One as a board certified emergency room radiologist, and the other, as one of the pastors at The Bridge Christian Church.

In When Skies Aren’t Blue, Dr. Andy Laurie shares his personal journey as a sudden and unexplainable illness brought dark clouds into his blue skies of life at the early age of thirty-nine. Following, he offers Ten Powerful Steps as prescriptions that present real hope amid those dark skies that tend to drift in without warning. With clear and an easy-to-understand Biblical teaching, coupled with prayers at the end of each step, he encourages readers to remain steadfast in hope, persevere, and hold onto their faith in a God - Who is near and real in times of trouble.

Further shedding light on evil and sickness in our world, the author speaks candidly to all that are battling with failing health. His book offers fundamentals that teach and reveal not only the characteristics of God and our Heavenly Father as a good Father, yet he also highlights Satan and the role he plays upon this fallen world. His book presents simple truths of the Bible by helping readers understand that God is not causing sickness and thus, helps readers gain a healthy perspective. Satan is the one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Yet, there is hope to be found! Jesus Christ is our anchor of hope in this life and eternally.

Dr. Laurie presents 10 powerful steps to victory. Each step is designed to point the reader to a God that is real and present, offering comfort, inspiration and scriptural insight bringing the absolute love and magnificence of God Almighty into the forefront. Dr. Andy Laurie states with unequivocal belief from the facts that God is real, He’s listening to you, and He cares for you. These 10 steps are powerful for life because they speak truth and give real help and hope for those in desperate need.

This book comes highly recommended for those who are currently suffering with failing health (or other life storms), and are in need of hope and encouragement that is real and tangible. In Whom We Have Redemption Through His Blood, the Forgiveness of Sins, According to the Riches of his Grace

 Written By
Thurman Faison

AS FAR AS THE EAST IS FROM THE WEST

What is the best hope for mankind, given the condition of the world we now live in? Actually, it is "forgiveness". There is no way that man has hope without God's forgiveness. This book focuses on the unfolding of God's intent to forgive man, regardless of his sins; if there is a change of heart, or simply a repentant state of mind.

This book covers the lives of many individuals within the scriptures who experienced the forgiveness of God after great and shocking acts of evil. It shows us that there is still hope for us today. For the Lord has said unto us; "Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD, Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool."( Isaiah 1:18,19).

Beautifully Illustrated

A very special thank you, Reina Davison, for your work to protect the vulnerable children of the world! ~ CBM Christian Book Reviews

This is a wonderful truth in God’s Word, as she begins the book by the definition of what an overcomer is. Opening children’s eyes to the truth of God’s purpose and plans for them, she goes on to describe God’s gift of free will.

Describing Good Touch and Bad Touch; she elaborates on these two and what that can encompass. There are Good Touch people and Bad Touch people. Her book gives hope to children who have or have not experienced abuse by speaking the truth of God’s love and care for their body. She also teaches children how to prevent abuse by giving them the tools to know the difference between a healthy relationship and unhealthy relationships.

Writing from a Biblical perspective, yet incredibly gentle and simple, Reina Davison gives hope and guidance that exposes the darkness and sin of the enemy lurking in our lives. These people are unsafe and “No Touch” people as Reina explains. Her premise teaches children the principle of becoming “Overcomers” in Christ Jesus.

Truly a  fantastic book that teaches wonderful and enlightening spiritual truths to children. (Note: This book just may encourage adults as well; teaching them that they are overcomers!) I personally enjoyed the uplifting truths to her book and thought…I wish I had a book such as this when I was a child. You will be delighted by this book as well.

As a guidebook, this book teaches parents, caregivers, family members, etc., to understand what safe behavior is in and out of the home. Her Body Safety guide in the back provides a checklist for adults to adhere to in protecting children.

With beautiful illustrations, the author sheds light on walking in the truth of God’s Word, while giving them instruction of their enemy (the devil), the Bible, and Jesus, offering hope and encouragement to look to Jesus as their help and Savior. Her book shows that God has a good plan for them and cares for them. She shares that they are Overcomers and can defeat the enemy (the devil) and that because of Jesus, they too can choose to be of Good Cheer (be happy).

This book comes highly recommended for all children who need to be taught encouraging truths about God’s Word, and especially is a tool to be used by parents, counselors, pastors, child psychologists, medical personnel, and lay persons to teach about healthy sexual boundaries.

To tell you the truth, this is one of those books parents should utilize in teaching their children about bad people that sin and touch inappropriately. She has given a list of resources in the back of the book, and is an advocate of ending child sexual abuse. Written with grace, wisdom, and sensitivity to children’s pure intellects, this book does a wonderful job in tackling a difficult subject.

A Must Read Christian Novel

Christian Reading - Author Mark Norris, Sword of the Spirit  - To most in the Realm of Drugolin, otherly spirit lore lingered as mysterious legends best suited for late night hearths.

On rare occasions one might hear of strange visitations. Some of huge, radiant beings bearing aid and guidance. Others of dark, evil creatures summoning dread and death. All were a part of Drugolish legend, but few took them seriously.

The westland village of Noy couldn’t afford the apathy of its unenlightened, middleland neighbors. Its enclosing fortress walls stood as a monument to the frightening visitations it experienced, day and night.

When the town’s most celebrated
otherly adventurer receives a prophetic lamp, he teams with one final group on a faith empowering mission into the dread regions of evil that could usher in an eternal age where mortals are like angels and God reigns supreme.

Yahwin (God), Krystos (Jesus), Sahron (Satan), a host of
otherly foes, warrior angels, and warrior prophets endued with extraordinary power all inhabit this peculiar realm in which author Mark Norris tells an eschatological tale that wars for the Millennium’s victor’s rights.

What would you do if an angel materialized in your bedroom tonight, handed you a prophetic lampstand that projected the events of Satan’s rebellion, and invited you to brave the powers of hell?  .................
The otherly is waiting,…will you go?

What others say about Sword of the Spirit:

In Sword of the Spirit, Mark takes us on an intense and imaginative quest that parallels our own lives. A great piece of work that captivates the reader while increasing our ability to remain free from the schemes of darkness. I love  it. It is lush in imagery.“ ~ Gary Crawford

This book really made me think. It delves into spiritual warfare, and considers some of the ways God could anoint believers who resist the enemy in the last days.

This book challenged me to believe God for some things I had never considered before. But, it is also a good story. It has plenty of action and I found it hard to put down. I recommend it!” ~ Tom Miller

A Life Changing Christian Book

Christian Reading - God, I’m Angry at You! Where were you God when I was hurting? by Lawrence W. Stanfield, PhD, offers the story of Joseph captured in the book of Genesis as a backdrop to come alongside trauma survivors, giving hope and instruction that will usher in a progressive approach to inner healing.

Lawrence W. Stanfield has written a much-needed book that should be recognized not only by the Christian community, but by the secular community.  His purpose in writing the book is to address the silent epidemic and the alarming deterioration of family units and individuals. The author teaches Biblical principles that intertwine with Joseph’s story to help readers understand their past in order to move forward in their present.  This book also has the potential to bring much healing of the mind, soul and spirit with a look at Joseph who is much like us today.

The story of Joseph is one of family dysfunction and victory (in the end of course); but not before unimaginable trauma, separation, betrayal, loss and heartache took place.  Readers will embark on a journey through progressive chapters such as: Home, Your Launchpad for Self-Destruction, Caution! You Have Hidden Baggage, Is Your Past Your Present? Are You Programmed to Self-Destruct? God, I am Hurting! Where Are You God? and more ...

His book reveals a flurry of wrong choices beginning from Rebekah (Jacob’s mother) to a wide range of emotions, mindsets and self-destructive thoughts and ways that keep us from God.  Encouraging all to look up to God, the author speaks from a psychological standpoint as one who was well-acquainted with failure and certainly understands feelings of hopelessness, despair, and not measuring up. Yet, he adamantly states God is the only One who can meet us in our darkest nights and pit experiences to see us through. God’s compassion, love, and instruction is revealed through the life of Joseph, similarly we can expect the same.  Insight into the human psyche gives us a front-row seat and the author challenges readers to thought-provoking issues that will bring enlightenment, healing and the grace of God upon one’s life.

God, I’m Angry at You! Where were you God when I was Hurting? further sheds light in the statement and thought of, where were you God when I needed you the most?  His book provides answers to human suffering and offers hope through that pervasive question prevalent in the story of Joseph and in our own lives.

This book comes highly recommended due to the author’s vast experience with trauma victims, his trauma counsel experience, as well as a being a pastor and minister for many years, including work in the social services serving children and families. An Amazing Transformation

Author Henry Miranda
Before becoming Christians, we all came from different backgrounds.  Some of us were at our worst end and didn’t know where to turn.  Some of us like the apostle Paul were drawn by God.  Some of us grew up in the church knowing Christ.  But, it makes no difference how we came into the Kingdom of God. All we need to know is that until we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we were spiritually dead. We could not understand spiritual truths. We became spiritually alive only after we believed the truth about Jesus and were willing to yield ourselves to Him.

Ephesians 2:3-5 (KJV) "Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ," (by grace ye are saved;)

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new".

The “new man” is comparable to a grain of popcorn: it is the same grain, but it has gone through an amazing transformation. What the heat does for the corn; the grace of God does for us.

We were transformed from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to the power of God.

Romans 6:3-6 (NKJV) "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified" with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin."

You must live your life in obedience, for obedience changes our relationship with God and obedience brings a greater degree of personal purity. Obedience acts of our sincere love for one another. We must think with a new attitude. Faith and repentance involve the mind, and repentance begins in the mind. Our minds should be self-controlled. We must die to self. We are not to indulge in formal evil practices. We must direct our life with proper goals.

Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV) "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

You turned your life 180 degrees when you come to Christ. You see differently and you have a new beginning. You can’t live your life the same as before you were transformed into a new creation. You turned your back to the old way of life and headed in the new direction towards Christ.

How sad it is when we want to follow our own way and do what we want to do. We want to make our own decisions without ever consulting God, and yet when we get in trouble, or when we come to a roadblock in our lives that we can't move, we cry out to God to help us. Then when He doesn't answer, we wonder why.

God is omnipotent, all-powerful, and able to do anything He chooses to do. And He is omniscient, all-knowing. He hears and sees everything we say and do. If God doesn't act on our behalf, it is not because He isn't able to; it is simply because He has chosen not to because of our rebellion and stubborn refusal to obey Him.

Isaiah 59:1-3 (NKJV) "Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies; your tongue has muttered perversity."
Often when God doesn't act immediately on our behalf, we begin to think that He doesn't hear us or that He "can't save us," that He's not able to meet our needs. Yet, Isaiah points out in verse two that it's our sin that keeps God from working in our lives, not His inability to act or to hear us. It's our sin that separates Him from us.

God hears our prayers before we even speak. Just because we call ourselves Christians doesn’t mean that we have a guaranteed that God will answer our prayers, it is only by abiding in Christ that we get a guarantee that our prayers will be answered.

Psalms 37:4-6 (NKJV) "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday."

There are Christian who is spiritually dead, they are blinded by this world as to their lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life. The spiritually dead don’t care for the things of the Spirit. They spend their entire time talking about earthly things like food, entertainment, sex, and comfort. If they do speak on the spiritual it is out of ignorance and in the comfort of a god that is made up in make-believe; living only in their imagination.

What does it matter to you when you received Christ at the end we are all equal. The calling of God comes to man at different ages of life. They who have lived a life of holiness, and they who have given to God only the dregs of their ill-spent days, receive the same salvation.

God’s grace is sometimes defined as unmerited favor. God’s grace goes beyond our understanding. It is the very nature of God, who is defined as love, to pour out His love upon His people in a way and in a measure that is both undeserved and unexpected.
